Gratitude & Giving Back
For 50 years, Blackthorne has been fueled by the support of our incredible community. As we celebrate this milestone, we’re committed to giving back through charitable partnerships, special promotions, and initiatives that promote wellness for all. Thank you for trusting us—here’s to making the next 50 years even more meaningful together!
JANUARY
The Food Bank for Monterey County is the largest and most comprehensive provider of emergency supplemental food in the region, addressing the critical issue of food insecurity affecting over 40% of local residents. Serving as the central distribution hub, it supplies high-quality food, fresh produce, and vital educational and nutritional resources to over 160 nonprofit partners. By feeding 1 in 4 residents and 1 in 3 children, the Food Bank is making a transformative impact on hunger and community health across Monterey County.
Throughout January, Blackthorne Spas will be volunteering at the Food Bank for Monterey County to support their mission of ending hunger and improving community health. Team members will assist with sorting, packing, and distributing food to help ensure local families have access to nutritious meals. Join us in making a difference! FEBRUARY
Camp McCandless, the 4-H Summer Camp program, will take place in June in the scenic Santa Cruz Mountains. This 6-day, 5-night experience is designed for 4-H enrolled youth ages 9-18, offering a range of traditional camp activities that encourage teamwork, leadership, and personal growth. Through outdoor adventures and skill-building opportunities, campers will have the chance to connect with peers and develop valuable life skills in a fun and supportive environment. The 4-H youth who attend represent a variety of communities from Aromas to Lockwood.
To support the Monterey County 4-H Camp Program, Blackthorne Spas is hosting a Cold Plunge Challenge on February 8th from 11 AM to 2 PM. Participants who take the plunge (up to their necks!) will have $50 donated to the Monterey County 4-H Camp Program, with the goal of raising up to $5,000. We encourage everyone to join the cause, take the plunge, and help us raise funds for this incredible youth camp experience!
